Assembly Festival sets the standard for theatre, comedy, and entertainment and are one of the largest multi-venue operators on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We present high calibre work in temporary theatre spaces across the city, ranging from lecture theatres and churches to tents and shipping containers. In 2022 we celebrated our 40th Assembly Festival at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in addition to returning to Coventry as part of its City of Culture celebrations. We also were delighted to help present Edinburgh's Christmas and Hogmanay celebrations for 2022 - it was a new experience for us but was a very exciting and challenging series of events across the winter period.

Box Office team
Assembly Festival sets the standard for theatre, comedy, and entertainment and are one of the largest multi-venue operators on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We present high calibre work in temporary theatre spaces across the city, ranging from lecture theatres and churches to tents and shipping containers. As a Box Office team member you will be part of a well-trained team who have a thorough knowledge of the ticketing system and our Festival programme. You will be an important and skilled team member able to resolve customer queries, advise and direct customers. You will have a professional manner, be a people person and happy to gather and organise information for our customers, providing unbeatable customer service at this front-line position.
Bars team
Bars are an essential part of the Assembly Festival experience, they are the social areas where audiences and performers gather, adding to the energetic buzz of the venues. At Assembly, we pride ourselves on creating unique, professional and safe environments for performers and audiences to get a drink pre-show, as a place to meet friends or to unwind. If you have previous bar or waiting experience, are passionate about all aspects of bar service, willing to work hard and learn new skills, then it may be for you.
Front of House team
The Front of House team performs an array of duties within the venue. More than just ripping tickets, this job is about seating audiences, answering queries, greeting customers and ensuring everyone's experience at Assembly is a positive one. Front of House and usher teams needs a good understanding of what it means to deliver great customer service and always be positive and ready to help. This role gets involved in all aspects of the festival and we have small and large teams across our festival sites.
Street Food Operations team
At Assembly, we pride ourselves on the delicious range of street food we present to our customers each year. The street food ops team are trained on the job to deliver generous, healthy dishes in a fast-paced and exciting environment. Split into small teams, successful applicants will have the chance to learn multiple cuisines and workflows and be ready to move between roles as required.
We are looking for Kitchen prep staff, servers, baristas and customer service superstars.

Edinburgh Food Festival ProducerEdinburgh Food Festival 2023
The Edinburgh Food Festival (EFF) is a vital part of the Assembly Festival portfolio, becoming a much-anticipated part of the summer festival calendar in Edinburgh and beyond. The role of producer ensures the successful delivery of the event with through curation, production, budget monitoring and a further emphasis on the production planning, operation and delivery of the festival in July.
Rate of Pay: Pro-rata annual salary of £32,000 p.a.

Press Coordinator - BroadcastEdinburgh Festival Fringe 2023

Role Description
Assembly Festival is one of the largest and longest running multi-venues on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. n 2023, we will be presenting around 200 shows across 6 sites, across all performance genres. Assembly Festival’s summer season begins on 14 July when it welcomes Edinburgh Jazz and Blues to Assembly George Square Gardens and Assembly Roxy; before the Edinburgh Food Festival returns 21 – 30 July. Our festival programme will kick off on Wednesday 2 August with the Assembly Gala showcase.
The Press Coordinator will work with the communications team, to collate information from companies and artists, and coordinate and generate broadcast press coverage for Assembly as part of the Festival Fringe 2022.
Role and Responsibilities:
Work with press and marketing towards presenting campaigns to a high standard that will promote Assembly’s artistic vision and shows appropriately.
Coordinate broadcast and media opportunities, with specific reference to any recording or photography with the Technical and Venue Teams to ensure the smooth running of on-site broadcast opportunities.
Logging and circulating broadcast schedules on a daily basis during the festival.
Work with the Press Manager, Sponsorship and Programming Team on the Assembly Gala Launch and coordinate the press guest list to maximise Assembly’s press coverage from the start of the festival.
Assist the Head of Marketing and Press Manager with the day-to-day running of the communications office, supporting visiting companies, and specific show campaigns where applicable.
Assisting the Press Office Team with the filing and reporting of press clippings.
Attending staff meetings, award ceremonies and other events where applicable.
Other duties, within reason, as required.
Person Specification:
Previous festival and events or performing arts based experience is desirable.
Understanding of arts based publicity and the motivations behind a ticket buyer.
Previous experience managing press campaigns for live performances, or festival based PR experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels, both within and externally to the organisation.
Proactive approach to generating ideas and thinking on your feet as well as creatively.
Excellent attention to detail and a proven track record in delivering to the highest standard.

Assembly Festival Technicians - Lighting, Sound, Stage Management and General Technicians.Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2023
We are looking for experienced, Lighting, Sound, Stage Management and General Technicians to join our Edinburgh Team. Our Venues range from 50 to 800 seats.
Roles are available in Edinburgh to build and work in our temporary theatre venues from July for the Jazz Festival and Food Festival and roll through until the end of August to cover the Fringe or from Early August for the Fringe dates only.
Staff are required to be 18+ due to the licensed nature of our sites, and have a legal right to work in the UK, no Visas are able to be offered for these roles.
Working alongside other venue technicians you will ensure the smooth running of the venue, supporting the visiting companies where necessary and assisting in the build/dismantle of the venue as required.
We expect all our venue technicians to work together as a team, larger venues will have separate departmental technicians, with smaller venues being run by general technicians. Please discuss the details of your venue directly with the Technical Management team.
The role includes but is not exclusive to:
• Building/dismantling the venues under the supervision of the venue Production Manager, including; rigging scaffolding and trussing, decking, drapes, LX, AV and sound.
• Installing site elements including sound, site dressing and infrastructure.
• Assisting in the build of other venues, bars, exhibitions etc. This may include working outside during inclement weather.
• Assisting the visiting companies’ loading their show specific technical equipment.
• Rigging and focusing company specials
• Working alongside the Venue PM and HoD’s to gather and document the equipment and personnel used for each visiting company.
• Actively assisting venue turn arounds get ins and get outs.
• Programming and operating for technical rehearsals and performance, where the company requires it
• Maintaining the venue and dressing rooms in a safe and clean manner
• Working alongside the PM and VM to ensure that visiting companies are well looked after and that any issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Ensuring there is power up/down information for each venue and well-marked up cue sheets/scripts.
• Working in a team with the other technicians to ensure safe and speedy turn arounds between shows.
• Working alongside Front of House to ensure safe and efficient management of the venue; i.e. taking responsibility for the safety of audiences and managing evacuations.
Lighting Technician Duties
• To rig and focus the lighting for the venue
• To programme and operate the lighting console for technical rehearsals and performances
• Conduct daily rig checks and ensure all maintenance takes place in a timely fashion
• Assist with the install/dismantle of site and bar lighting in the area surrounding the venue and lease with the venue PM regarding maintenance
• Repatch as necessary in turnarounds
• Run any stage power and stage electrics as required in turnarounds
• Assist with the overall turnarounds between performance, including other departments
• Assist the SM team in recording Show reports
• Assist in compiling visiting company charge backs.
• Ensure backup copies of the show files are created and maintained
• Create cue sheets and annotated scripts ensuring they are maintained
• Adhere to and implement the best Health and Safety practices and follow Assembly Festival Health and Safety guidelines.
Sound Technician Duties
• To assist with the rigging and installation of the sound system for the venue
• To operate and programme the sound desk for technical rehearsals and performances
• To conduct daily rig checks, perform regular required maintenance, reporting any faults to management in a timely fashion
• To assist with the install/dismantle of site and bar sound systems in the area surrounding the venue and lease with the venue PM regarding maintenance
• To repatch as necessary in turnarounds
• To run any stage power and show specific sound as required in turnarounds
• To assist with the overall turnarounds between performance, including other departments
• To ensure the venue has relevant pre-show announcements as provided by the Head of Sound
• To assist the SM in recording Show reports
• To assist the SM in compiling visiting company charge backs.
• To ensure backup copies of the show files are created and maintained
• To create cue sheets and annotated scripts ensuring they are maintained
• To adhere to and implement the best Health and Safety practices and follow Assembly Festival Health and Safety guidelines
• Knowledge of l’acoustics systems, Yamaha CL mixing consoles and Qlab is strongly desirable
Stage Management Duties
• You are employed as part of a team in your venue so whilst your primary responsibility is to the stage management of the venue, you also need to be prepared to work in all areas of technical theatre and to assist other technicians as necessary.
• To liaise with FOH regarding clearance, enabling quick seating of audiences.
• To cover stage cues as necessary
• To run the stage turnaround between shows
• To manage the storage space for the venue
• To call shows as necessary.
• To look after backstage reports and dressing room areas
• To complete show, fit up and get out notes and inventories.
• To keep a record of any items chargeable to the company (operators/ show specials/ hardware/ equipment etc.)
• To adhere to and implement the best Health and Safety practices and follow Assembly Festival Health and Safety guidelines.

Marketing Team - Digital Communications OfficerEdinburgh Festival Fringe 2023

We are looking for an experienced Digital Communications Officer to join their Marketing and Communications team for Fringe 2023.
Working alongside the other departments, the successful candidate will deliver engaging and succinct digital content to ensure the success of the Digital Marketing campaigns.
The right candidate will have some experience in strategizing and implementing digital marketing activity, along with a passion for the arts and live performance.
Key Duties:
Planning and delivering effective digital communications, including email marketing, social media, website & other applicable channels.
Production of content and copy across our website, Instagram, Facebook, and other owned and paid channels.
Creation pf Blog content for Assembly Festival and affiliate websites.
SEO monitoring and updating.
Coordinating the digital content for the in-house campaigns alongside the Head of Marketing and Campaigns Officer.
Working within the overall marketing budget, helping to agree project budgets, and ensuring that costs are managed and recorded.
Lead the Digital Content and Marketing Coordinator to ensure the digital campaigns are optimised and delivering the campaign objectives.
Requirements:
Graphic Design experience, working with Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with Social Media management, CRM and database management and newsletter creation.
Experience in data and post-campaign analysis and reporting on KPIs.
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in all MS Office
Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Pete Patel: Edinburgh Fringe 2023 - Box Office Manager
We are looking for a top notch Box Office Manager to join our team for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Season 2023
The Box Office Managers main goal is to ensure the customer receives the highest quality service and in assisting the smooth operational running of the box office, making sure staff are fulfilling their duties to the best of their ability and within legal regulations.
Role commences 26th June and runs through until 3rd September

Box office Managers are an integral role within the box office team at the Assembly festival, Providing support to the box office team and creating an important link between the box office assistants, the Assembly Festival management team and visiting companies. The Box Office Manager is responsible for coordinating the team of box office assistants daily, ensuring that they are kept up to date with internal communications, coordination rotas, timesheets and maximising box office sales through effective customer service, supervision and training of box office staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Liaise with venues, producers and the communications team to maintained and set up Assembly events on Red61- VIA if required including the arrangement and ongoing monitoring of offers, allocations and price-lists
• Liaise with venues and box office teams re-mark backs and offer in a timely fashion as contractually agreed
• Liaise with Head of Finance & Operations and Head of Communications, Box Office & Digital to create and maintain the weekly and bi-weekly sales reports, incorporating financial deals and any additional information required
• Ensure Assembly Festival bookers have correct confirmation emails, instructions on ticket collection and have all information they need to attend events, including any automated pre and post-show emails
